1960, Havana, Cuba. A contemporary abstract painter, Alicia Dunn creates spirited pieces on canvas and wood. Through the use of vibrant color, layering and textural techniques, the work achieves a luminosity that is both invigorating and serene. Raised in Brooklyn, NY, Alicia currently lives and works beachside in San Diego. Her work is collected throughout the US. Residential and commercial commissions accepted.

My style reflects a modern impression of landscapes, still life and abstract forms. Many ideas come from my travels to Canada , Maine and the National Parks in the West through which I have hiked and camped. Other favorite spots are Kentucky, Chicago , Lake Geneva, and Arizona. My favorite subjects include water scenes, leaves, gardens and fountains, some of which are as close as my back yard. I work from photos, with a process of oils, liquin media and wax on canvas.
